Kevin Smylie
Captain
Captain for 2023/24, Captain Kevin has been a keen member of our club for 20 years. He’s a regular on the teams and has enjoyed his experience as the team captain of the Rossmore cup squad which he believes is good enough to go all the way
Ed McDonald
Vice Captain
Vice captain Ed is a founder member of Rockmount. He has played on a number of different teams, with the highlight being the 1999 Ulster Cup final. He has captained a few of the gents and juniors teams. The highlights being back to back Johnny Dixon wins, although the junior players those years were outstanding, so not much for the captain to do. He’s looking forward to his committee term.

Robert Patterson

Robert Patterson’s dream began in the early 90’s when himself and his wife Diane decided to turn part of their farmland near Carryduff into an eighteen-hole championship standard golf course which would include a modern clubhouse with a top quality restaurant and bar facilities.
The club & course has gone from strength to strength and Robert is very much still involved in all club competitions including interclub golf teams
Gregg Sterritt

Gregg has been a member of Rockmount for 25 years. With a playing handicap of 3 he has played on a number of teams over the years and enjoys the competition that this brings. Gregg is a Chartered Accountant and is looking forward to working with the rest of the Gents committee.
Colin Childs

Joined the club in 1998. Enjoy being involved in the different teams at RGC. Playing, captaining or just supporting. Been on the Committee for 4 years and have now been given the considerable challenge of following in Mr Wallace’s footsteps as Competition Secretary. Wish me luck!
In terms of my golfing ability, I don’t drive it well, I don’t hit my irons well, I can’t chip and my putting is poor. But I’ve been told I have a great attitude

Adam has been a member from his Junior Days at Rockmount and its a delighted to have him join the committee.
Michael Carson

Michael is an original member of Rockmount ! He is a retired GP and currently plays off a handicap of 7. A past member of the Ulster Cup team he is just new unto Committee as Assistant Competition Secretary.
Gareth Poole
Junior Convenor
Gareth is a founder member of Rockmount, He took up the role of Junior
Convenor 2019. Gareth can be seen playing interclub competitions and holds a
handicap of nine. Gareth enjoys playing family golf with his wife Ashley
and daughters Abbey & Alexandria.
Kevin Cushnan
Public Relations Officer
Kevin has been a member of Rockmount since 2009. Kevin has taken up the role of public relations officer and will be responsible for the gents and juniors sections of the website and social media. Kevin will also liaise with the local press to promote the clubs activities and achievements.
Frank McCourt
Social Convenor
A member since the club opened, Frank got his application in 1993. Frank has been team captain for the Ulster Four Ball for 4 years, played on Ulster Four Ball Team & Junior Cowdy. Frank’s “Current” handicap is 19, and he enjoys the game with his four ball. Frank Looks forward to his yearly trips to play golf in Belek Turkey, also acting as walking Marshall in the Turkish Open, and got the polo shirts to prove it. Frank’s is looking forward to working as part of the Gents committee and with the other club committees.

Pauline McWilliams
Lady Captain
Lady Captain, Pauline has been playing at Rockmount since 1996. Her (semi) retirement from her career as a mental health nurse has allowed her time to work on and to enjoy her golf more. She has also been able to throw herself into her role as this year’s Lady Captain.
Rosie McCrea
Lady Vice Captain
Rosie has been a member of Rockmount since 2002. She has played on a number of teams and represented the club at All-Ireland finals. She has been a team captain and has also served on the ladies committee in previous years. Now retired, she has more time to work with the club as well as trying to get her handicap down and ticking countries off her bucket list!
Carol Blyth
Past Lady Captain
Immediate past captain, Carol has been a member of Rockmount for 16 years. Following a very busy and successful year as lady captain which saw three teams reach the All-Ireland stage of interclub competition, Carol hopes to have more time to work on her own handicap at home and abroad.

Frances and her husband Marty have been members of Rockmount for 26 years. A keen golfer, she 2 loves playing not just the local courses, but abroad with her family. Frances has been fortunate to play on several of the ladies interclub teams over the years, and she has captained the Intermediate team for the last three years. She joins the committee this year as Hon Secretary – not quiet the retirement she had planned
Noreen Mikhael
Public Relations Officer
Noreen is a founder club member and founding committee member of Rockmount. She has recently come onto committee again after a 20+ year interval and is currently looking after ladies’ club PR, keeping members up to date on what’s happening. She has played on a number of teams over the years.
