Lady Captain, Rosie McCrea organised a wonderful 2025 weekend away for the Ladies’ Club this year to the Slieve Russell in Ballyconnell, County Cavan. Twenty eight members both old and new joined Lady Captain for two days of golf, dining and entertainment on the first weekend in May. And what a memorable weekend it was! The weather was simply fabulous, the hotel, food, drink and service were great and the craic was mighty! Late nights with dancing or early nights with cocoa (as if) everyone had a ball.
Some great golf was enjoyed on the great PGA National Slieve Russell golf course which, having been the scene of our Minor Cup team’s all-Ireland success a couple of years ago, held many great memories.
Big winner of the weekend was Anne Wynne who collected the Christine Martin trophy for her combined score over the two days of golf along with a lovely prize from Lady Captain. Anne missed the presentation on the night having rushed off to support her daughter running the Belfast marathon, so was presented them at Rockmount.
There was also a team prize for combined score and individual prizes for both days. Lady Captain Rosie introduced a novel competition whereby each team was issued with a pink ball which they had to use in rotation over the 18 holes – or for as long as it lasted. Seems not everyone had an opportunity to even strike the team ball!
Thanks Lady Captain for all your hard work in making this a truly memorable weekend.
