Ed McDonald

Captain

Captain Ed is a founder member of Rockmount. He is delighted to be Captain in the clubs 30th year anniversary. He has played on a number of different teams, with the highlight being the 1999 Ulster Cup final. He had back to back Johnny Dixon wins, although the junior players those years were outstanding, so not much for the captain to do. He’s looking forward to his committee term.

Michael Carson

Vice Captain

Vice Captain Michael is an original member of Rockmount ! He is a retired GP and currently plays off a handicap of 7. A past member of the Ulster Cup team he is just new unto Committee as Assistant Competition Secretary.

Kevin Smylie

Past Captain

Last years Captain Kevin has been a keen member of our club for over 20 years. He’s a regular on the teams and has enjoyed his experience as the team captain of the Rossmore cup squad which he believes is good enough to go all the way

Robert Patterson’s dream began in the early 90’s when himself and his wife Diane decided to turn part of their farmland near Carryduff into an eighteen-hole championship standard golf course which would include a modern clubhouse with a top quality restaurant and bar facilities. The club & course has gone from strength to strength and Robert is very much still involved in all club competitions including interclub golf teams

Gregg Sterritt

Gregg has been a member of Rockmount for 25 years. With a playing handicap of 3 he has played on a number of teams over the years and enjoys the competition that this brings. Gregg is a Chartered Accountant and is looking forward to working with the rest of the Gents committee.

Adam has been a member at Rockmount since he was a junior. He now plays on several of the senior teams and biggest highlight was winning the 2023 Club Championship. Adam is looking forward to assisting Kevin in his new role as competition secretary .

 

Kevin Cushnan

Public Relations Officer

Kevin has been a member of Rockmount since 2009. Kevin has taken up the role of public relations officer and will be responsible for the gents and juniors sections of the website and social media. Kevin will also liaise with the local press to promote the clubs activities and achievements.

Rosie McCrea

Captain

Captain Rosie has been a member of Rockmount since 2002. She has played on a number of teams and represented the club at All-Ireland finals. She has been a team captain and has also served on the ladies committee in previous years. Now retired, she has more time to work with the club as well as trying to get her handicap down and ticking countries off her bucket list!

Pauline McWilliams

Past Lady Captain

Past Captain, Pauline has been playing at Rockmount since 1996. Her (semi) retirement from her career as a mental health nurse has allowed her time to work on and to enjoy her golf more.

Alwyn Higham

Vice Lady Captain

Vice Captain, Alwyn has belonged to Rockmount since it opened almost 30 years ago. One of her most memorable experiences was being part of the team which won the All Ireland Junior Cup in 2022. Alwyn says that particular experience has only been matched by the amount of fun, laughter and friends she has made at the club over all those years.

Moya Sloan

Hon. Treasurer

Moya has been a member of Rockmount for over 20 years. She likes nothing better than being out in the fresh air playing golf with her friends and her family including husband and daughters. Moya has been on committee for four years and is currently Honorary Treasurer.

Jan Lindsay

Competition Secretary

Jan has played at Rockmount since 2008. A very keen golfer, she has played on many of our most successful teams. Jan has been on committee for a number of years and now looks after competitions and handicaps. 

Judith Lyons

Assistance Comp. Secretary

Judith began golfing as a juvenile, however, her sporting path led her towards hockey for 15 years. She found her way back to golf and joined Rockmount in 2018 and has represented the club in various teams since. 

 

Frances Lawther

Hon. Secretary

Frances and her husband Marty have been members of Rockmount for 26 years. A keen golfer, she 2 loves playing not just the local courses, but abroad with her family. Frances has been fortunate to play on several of the ladies interclub teams over the years, and she has captained the Intermediate team for the last three years. She joins the committee this year as Hon Secretary – not quiet the retirement she had planned

Noreen Mikhael

Public Relations Officer

Noreen is a founder club member and founding committee member of Rockmount. She has recently come onto committee again after a 20+ year interval and is currently looking after ladies’ club PR, keeping members up to date on what’s happening. She has played on a number of teams over the years.

Ashley Poole

Social Convenor

Ashley joined Rockmount a few years ago after taking part in Ladies Into Golf.  Her husband Gareth and daughters Abbie and Alex were already keen players and they encouraged her to give it a go. She has been enjoying both the golf and the social side of the club. 

Carol Blyth

Junior Co-ordinator

Carol thoroughly enjoys playing golf in all its guises, whether with her 4-ball on Saturday, playing or captaining in inter-club matches or the ever so friendly matches with her husband at home or on holiday.  As former treasurer, social secretary and captain of ladies section Carol continues to enjoy supporting the club in her new role as junior co-ordinator.

Pat Neeson

Women into Golf

Pat joined Rockmount about five years ago after taking part in  Women Into Golf. Since then she has been enjoying both the golf and the social side of the club.  Pat is responsible for encouraging and attracting new women players who have participated in the Women Into Golf programme.
